Setting Up Your Printer
Setting up a new printer doesn't have to be complicated. Follow this step-by-step guide to get your printer up and running quickly, and troubleshoot common issues when things don't go as planned.
Unbox and Connect
Remove all packaging, internal tape and packing materials, plug in the power, and connect via USB or Wi‑Fi.
Install Drivers
Drivers are the software that allows your computer to communicate with your printer. Without the right drivers, your printer won't work properly. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
Load Paper and Ink
With the printer connected and drivers installed, it's time to load paper and install the ink or toner. Pro Tip: Remove all protective tape and orange caps from new cartridges before installation – this is the most common cause of installation issues.
Test Print
Print a test page to verify everything works. Settings → Printers & Scanners → Select your printer → Manage → Print Test Page
Troubleshooting Common Issues
To fix common printer setup issues,check all physical cables and Wi-Fi signals, restart the printer and computer, clear stuck print jobs from the queue, and ensure you have the correct manufacturer drivers installed.
